In the quarterfinals of the 2023 GLVC Championship Tournament, the UIS men's tennis team was defeated by the Southwest Baptist Bearcats at the UIndy Tennis Center. UIS, the #4E seed, fell by a score of 4-0 to the top seeded GLVC West team. 

Sebastian Jonsson started hot with a 6-3 set in No. 1 singles. The match was tied 5-5 in the second set when it was left unfinished. The Bearcats claimed wins in the No. 2, and 3 spots and won No. 6 doubles by a walkover.

The match ended the season for the Prairie Stars (3-10), while SBU is 16-8 and will advance to face #3W Drury in the semifinal round.
