| Box Score 2 The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team picked up a pair of wins over the weekend to improve their record to 3-5 and 1-2 in GLVC play. 

The Prairie Stars won 4-1 over the Lewis Flyers in Romeoville, Ill. on Saturday. Figuierre and Herrera won their doubles set but UIS could not take the doubles point from the Flyers. Sebastian Jonsson, Arthur Figuierre, Ivan Esguerra, and Pablo Herrera were victorious in their singles matches. 

UIS took a 6-1 win against the Northwood University Timberwolves at home on Sunday. The Prairie Stars came away with the doubles point when Jonsson and Figuierre won 6-3 and Esguerra and Herrera won 6-1. Five Prairie Stars won in singles, three went to third sets. 

The Prairie Stars will play one of the top teams in the nation when they face the Indianapolis Greyhounds at the Springfield Racquet and Fitness Center on Friday. UIS will then face the McKendree Bearcats on Sunday, also at home.
