The UIS men's golf team closed the regular season with a tournament win at the Quincy Invitational.
Julien Babineau was the individual champion and
Daniel Edwards was the runner-up.
Babineau led the tournament through day one with an even par first round. He shot a 73 on Tuesday to finish first with a score of 143. It was the freshman's first collegiate tournament win.
Daniel Edwards shot 72, 73 to finish two strokes back from Babineau.
JJ Kim fired rounds of 75 and 73 to finish T5 while
Alex Seibal and
Brady Wilson also finished in the top ten.
Tom Bumann and
Aryaman Mohan tied for 18th with scores of 161 to round out the team.
Next up for UIS is the GLVC Championship at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo. on April 16-18. GLVC teams will first compete in 54 holes of stroke play to determine the individual champion on Sunday and Monday before the top-four teams move on to the semifinal and final rounds of match play to determine the team champion on Tuesday, April 18.
