The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team put up a big fight against Southwest Baptist on Thursday at the Springfield Racquet and Fitness Center, but the Prairie Stars fell by a 6-1 score.

The Southwest Baptist Bearcats opened the match by winning the doubles point. Franca Bucco won her singles match 6-4, 6-1. Riann Hsu, Eva Rubio, and Marianela Landi took their matches to the third set before falling just short. 

UIS will face the Drury Panthers at home on Saturday.
