The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team ended its season on Saturday afternoon with a 98-74 loss to Southwest Baptist.
UIS shot just 37 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from three-point range. The Prairie Stars were outrebounded, but recorded eleven less turnovers.
UIS led early, but Southwest Baptist shot 71.4 percent from the field to build a 49-36 lead by halftime. The Prairie Stars got within ten points of SBU three times in the third quarter, but were unable to get back in the lead.
Liz Uhl was the leading scorer for the Prairie Stars with 24 points. Uhl was 8-of-18 from the field and contributed five rebounds.
Brianna Zajicek made eight of fifteen attempted field goals and tallied 21 points.
Ariyah Douglas had eight points, increasing her season total to 463 and becoming No. 5 in UIS women's basketball program history in individual season scoring. Douglas made 56 three pointers in her first season as a Prairie Star to become No. 6 all-time.
UIS women's basketball completes the season 4-24 overall and 4-16 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
