The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team fell 5-2 in their home opener versus the No. 15 Washburn Ichabods. 

Washburn won three of the first four singles matches. UIS's win in that span came from Riann Hsu at No. 4 singles. Franca Bucco claimed her singles match to make the final score 5-2. 

Riann Hsu and Eva Rubio both went to third sets in their singles matches. Rubio came up short, but Hsu came away with the team's first win of the day. 

UIS starts their season 0-1. The Prairie Stars are in action next week in Plainfield, Ill. versus Grand Valley State University.
