The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team fell to the No. 16 Washburn Ichabods on Saturday by a 5-2 score. 

Washburn came away with the doubles point after two 6-3 wins. Sebastian Jonsson and Arthur Figuiere were battling in No. 1 doubles before the match was left at a 5-5 tie. 

In singles action, UIS was competitive and came away with two wins. Rafa Rojas won in two sets, and Arthur Figuiere came away in the win after his match went to three sets. 

UIS falls to 0-1, and will face Grand Valley State next weekend in Plainfield, Ill.
