The No. 9 University of Illinois Springfield baseball team split a doubleheader against Lenoir-Rhyne on their second day of play in Hickory, N.C.

GAME ONE
Saturday's first game ended up being the lowest-scoring game of the series. Asher Bradd collected two hits and a run, while Brant Vanaman and Will Oberg each had one RBI. UIS had a total of seven hits and held Lenoir-Rhyne to just four.

UIS pulled ahead in the fourth thanks to a home run by Will Oberg. Lenoir-Rhyne responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth, and sealed the deal with one more run in the fifth inning.

GAME TWO
UIS closed the series against No. 16 Lenoir-Rhyne with a 10-3 win. Asher Bradd, Brandon Bannon, and Ian Dahlberg had two runs apiece while Peyton Dillingham and Brant Vanaman each had 3 RBI.

UIS held Lenoir-Rhyne scoreless until the Bears were able to pull off a three-run seventh inning. The Prairie Stars scored one run in the first, and five runs in the second.

Ryan Carmack racked up 14 strikeouts in five innings in his first start as a Prairie Star for the best mark in program history. The record was previously held by Colton Hale, who had thirteen strikeouts on two separate occasions.
