The University of Illinois Springfield men's and women's tennis teams will open their seasons versus Washburn at the Springfield Racquet and Fitness Center on Saturday. 

Washburn men's tennis is ranked No. 16 in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings. The Washburn Ichabods are 3-1 overall this season. 

Washburn women's tennis came in at No. 15 in the preseason ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings. Returners Sina Skjelstad and Carmen Llopis Fabra were able to overcome nationally-ranked Washburn in two singles matches when the teams met in 2022. Washburn is 2-2 so far in the 2023 season, including matches against two GLVC members.

Saturday's match will be the first of eight home matches for the Prairie Stars this spring.
