The NCAA All-Region duo of Cort Ross and Noah McIntyre have advanced to the NCAA DII Men's Cross Country Championships. They are two of seven individuals to come out of the Midwest Region.

Cort Ross became the first Prairie Star to earn a spot on the podium at the Midwest Regional Championships with his third-place finish. Noah McIntyre also had his best finish as the thirteenth runner to cross the finish line.

The three auto-qualifying teams out of the Midwest Regional Championships include Grand Valley State, Lewis, and Saginaw Valley State. The fourth-place Walsh Cavaliers were selected at-large, while the fifth-place Prairie Stars missed qualifying for the meet as a team.

Thirty-four men's cross country teams will compete in Joplin on Nov. 18, including three from each region and ten additional selections. The complete distribution of qualifying teams includes nine from the South Central Region, five from the West, four from the Central and South Regions, three from the East, Southeast, and Atlantic Regions, and just four from the historically strong Midwest Region.

Ross and McIntyre will both be competing in their second overall and consecutive national championships. McIntyre finished 43rd at the meet in 2022 while Ross was 99th. They were part of a sixth-place team effort.

The duo experienced the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course early in the season, finishing 9th and 10th respectively, though the race distance increases from 8,000m to 10,000m for the championship.
