The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team continues GLVC play this weekend on the road against UMSL on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and McKendree on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

UIS's current record is 9-13 with a 3-6 GLVC record, putting the Prairie Stars at 10th in the GLVC standings.

On Friday against William Jewell, the Prairie Stars picked up their third conference win of the season 3 sets to 1. The Stars took the first set 25-22. William Jewell took set two with a score of 25-19. The Prairie Stars won sets three and four to clinch the match, with scores of 25-21 and 25-19. Eirini Glynou and Erica Sledge both recorded double-doubles. Glynou had 23 kills and 14 digs. Sledge recorded 41 assists and 14 digs as well. Maria Spengler had 19 kills while Gabriella Ricci added another 10 kills. Amanda McConnell led the Prairie Stars with 15 digs. 

Saturday's matchup came against the nationally ranked Rockhurst Hawks. The Prairie Stars took set one by a score of 25-22. The 24th ranked team in the country proceeded to win three sets in a row (25-15, 25-11, 25-21) to ultimately win the match for the Hawks. Eirini Glynou once again led the Stars in kills with 15 while Maria Spengler had 13 kills of her own. Erica Sledge added another 34 assists to her tally for the season. Five Prairie Stars recorded double-digit digs; Erica Sledge (15), Eirini Glynou (13), Marta Pérez-Tapia (13), Maria Spengler (11), and Amanda McConnell (10).
