The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team continues GLVC play this weekend against conference opponent Quincy to celebrate Homecoming.

The Prairie Stars picked up their first conference win of the year on Friday against Upper Iowa. UIS took a tight first set, but the Peacocks dominated set two. Sets three and four were back-and-forth, but the Stars pulled away in both to take the match 3-1. Eirini Glynou had a personal best 22 kills and her second-best career mark of 20 digs. Erica Sledge contributed 44 assists while Amanda McConnell had a season-high 31 digs. Gabriella Ricci and Maria Spengler also recorded double-digit kills with 11 and 10.
Saturday's match against Truman State saw the Prairie Stars win in straight sets, the fourth time it has happened this season. Set one was extremely close as UIS edged it 25-22, but took sets two and three rather easily, winning both 25-15.
Eirini Glynou had another double-double match as she recorded 17 kills and 17 digs. Erica Sledge had 29 assists, bringing her total to 420 on the year. Amanda McConnell finished with 22 digs while also registering 2 service aces. Maria Spengler also had 10 kills of her own.
