No. 10 Prairie Stars Tie With No. 14 Greyhounds in Regular Season Finale

The UIS Prairie Stars men's soccer team, who claimed the GLVC regular season title on Friday night after defeating Lewis, closed the regular season with a 1-1 draw against the No. 14 ranked Indianapolis Greyhounds. UIS is the top seed in the GLVC Tournament and will therefore host a quarterfinal game at Kiwanis Stadium on Nov. 5.

Game Summary

  • Adrian Adames blocked UIndy's best chance in the still scoreless game at 55 minutes
  • Adames went on to score his sixth goal of the year on a well-placed cross by Federico D'Andrea in the 72nd minute
  • Andrea Scapolo allowed his first goal in 50 days with just over nine minutes remaining. It was the first goal against the UIS men's soccer team by a GLVC opponent this season
  • The Prairie Stars clean sheet streak of 12 games comes to an end after tying Parkside for the NCAA DII record on Friday night against Lewis

The GLVC Quarterfinal game between UIS and Drury is set for Nov. 5 at Kiwanis Stadium. UIS won 1-0 when the teams met in the regular season just three weeks ago. The GLVC Semifinal and Championship games will be hosted at a neutral site in East Peoria, Ill. on Nov. 10 and Nov. 12.
