The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team continues GLVC play this weekend with a pair of important matches against William Jewell on Friday and Rockhurst on Saturday.
UIS's current record is 8-12 with a 2-5 GLVC record, which sees the Prairie Stars in 10th.
On Friday against Southwest Baptist, UIS fell 3 sets to 1, with every set being close. UIS took the first set 25-15, but SBU took three sets in a row (26-24, 25-21, 25-23) to sink the Stars. Both Eirini Glynou and Carly Michels had 15 kills for the Prairie Stars. Erica Sledge added 41 assists to continue her impressive year. Eirini Glynou had 20 digs and Amanda McConnell had 18 digs of her own.
Saturday against Drury, the Panthers beat UIS 3-0. Drury's straight set win (25-19, 25-22, 25-23) put five GLVC teams on two conference wins. Eirini Glynou once again led the team in kills, with 21. Erica Sledge had 29 assists, while Amanda McConnell had 15 digs.
