Prairie Stars Drop Match to Drury Panthers

UIS volleyball fell to the Drury Panthers on Saturday in straight sets, falling to 8-12 (2-5 GLVC).

Match Summary
  • UIS was able to lead for much of the first set before a successful string of kills by Drury
  • Drury got out in front of UIS with a 5-2 run in the next stanza. The Prairie Stars were able to make up lost ground as the set was tied eight more times from that point, but ultimately fell 25-22
  • UIS took just two of the first ten points as the third set began. The Prairie Stars were able to put their offensive effort together mid-set and found themselves in the lead at 22-20. Two service aces by Stormi Tadlock and three more kills by Drury would end the match there
  • Eirini Glynou totaled 21 kills on 47 attacks, hitting .404 for the match
  • Amanda McConnell had 15 digs while Maria Spengler contributed 12
  • NeTania Livingston and Ericka Snopko each had two assisted blocks, Maria Spengler had one solo block

Around the GLVC
  • UMSL remains undefeated at 22-0 after taking down Missouri S&T and Maryville this weekend
  • Quincy also had two wins on the weekend and holds the second spot in the conference standings
  • Lewis is 3rd in the GLVC standings while Rockhurst is 4th. UIS will face Rockhurst this time next week
  • The Prairie Stars are 8th in the GLVC standings as of Saturday afternoon
