The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team fell in its final two matches at the Hampton Inn Invitational in Kenosha, Wis. The Prairie Stars dropped matches to Michigan Tech and Upper Iowa on Saturday.

Against Michigan Tech, UIS lost by scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-18. UIS hit .114 in the match, while Michigan Tech had a .259 mark. The Huskies had 12 blocks, compared to two for the Prairie Stars.

Angela Denney led the team with 15 kills. Other teams leaders were
Regan Trueblood with 23 assists, Denney and
Amanda McConnell with two service aces, McConnell with 13 digs, and
Macarena Flores with two blocks.

In the team's final match of the tournament, UIS came up short against Upper Iowa by margins of 25-18, 26-24, and 25-14. The Peacocks had 12 blocks and eight service aces against UIS.

Denney continued her double-digit kill streak with 12, and she had a double-double with 10 digs. Trueblood also had a double-double with 14 assists and 10 digs. McConnell and
Eirini Glynou each had 15 digs, and
Erica Sledge had 12. Flores had five blocks, one more than
Zanea Spencer.
Denney was named to the all-tournament team at the conclusion of the event.

UIS is now 3-5 on the season. The Prairie Stars have their home opener next Friday against Missouri S&T.
