The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team lost its GLVC opener against Missouri-St. Louis on Friday night at TRAC. The Prairie Stars were on the short end of 25-16, 25-21, and 25-16 scores.

Missouri-St. Lois hit .364 for the match, and only had seven hitting errors. The Tritons also had nine service aces. The Prairie Stars couldn't match those numbers, hitting .190 with 15 hitting errors and five service aces.

Angela Denney led UIS with 14 kills.
Zanea Spencer and
Eirini Glynou tied with eight apiece. Regan Truebood assisted on 19 kills. The dig leaders included
Amanda McConnell with 14 digs and
Erica Sledge with 12. Macarene Flores had two service aces and two blocks.

UIS is now 4-6 on the season. The Prairie Stars resume GLVC play on Saturday afternoon when Maryville comes to town.
