The University of Illinois Springfield men's cross country program finished fourth on Friday evening at the Redbird Invite. The Prairie Stars finished just three points behind third-place and host school, Illinois State.

Cort Ross led the Prairie Stars with a time of 24:42 on the 8,000m course.
Wyatt McIntyre also had a top-ten finish, coming in seventh with a time just 14 seconds behind Ross.

Noah McIntyre earned a 12th-place showing with a mark of 25:10. Rounding out the top-five on the team were
Matt Moler in 22nd and
Ryan Jones coming in 25th.

As a team, UIS scored 65 points, and finished ahead of NCAA Division I teams Northern Iowa, SIU-Edwardsville, and Iowa's "B" team. Wartburg won the meet, followed by Eastern Illinois and Illinois State.

UIS will be in action again on Oct. 8 at the Lewis Crossover.
