University of Illinois Springfield Athletics announced today the addition of three new athletics trainers in the Prairie Stars Sports Medicine Department. The new assistant athletics trainers are
Abby Kain,
Ryan Margold, and
Jacob Nardone.

Kain will provide athletic training services for volleyball, women's basketball, and cross country/track and field. Margold will be responsible for women's soccer and baseball. Nardone will be the athletic trainer for men's soccer cross country/track and field, and softball.

Kain has been BOC certified since 2022. She holds memberships with the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Illinois Athletic Trainers Association. She received her Master of Science in Athletic Training degree from Minnesota State University-Mankato in 2022.

The native of Inver Grove Heights, Minn. is the daughter of Darren and Jodi Kain.

Margold has been BOC certified since 2022. He holds memberships with the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Illinois Athletic Trainers Association. He received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 2020, and his Master of Athletic Training degree from the University of Illinois Springfield in 2022.

The native of Springfield, Ill. is the son of Steve and Brenda Margold.

Nardone has been BOC certified since 2022. He holds memberships with the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Illinois Athletic Trainers Association. He received his Master of Science in Athletic Training degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2022.

Nardone is married to his wife, Rachel, and lives in Springfield with their dog Daisy. Jacob is a native of Aurora, Ill., and is the son of James and Debbie Nardone.
