The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team put up a big fight against No. 10 Indianapolis on Saturday at the UIS Tennis Courts, but the Prairie Stars fell by a 4-2 score.

Indianapolis opened the match by winning the doubles point after winning the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. The UIS win at No. 2 came by a 6-2 margin from
Franca Bucco and
Carmen Llopis Fabra.

In singles, UIS won two of the five matches that were completed, and two other went to a third set.
Riann Hsu won the No. 3 match in straight sets, as did Bucco at No. 4 singles. Llopis Fabra and
Piper Schrepferman both forced a third set before coming up just short.

UIS falls to 6-7 on the season and 1-1 in GLVC play.
