The University of Illinois Springfield baseball team finished a four-game series sweep over Missouri S&T on Sunday. The Prairie Stars now have the second-longest winning streak in program history at 15 games following the team's 14-9 victory.

UIS trailed 4-2 after three innings, but scored seven times in the fourth to take control of the game. The bottom of the lineup started the rally with
Hunter Phelps and
Brayden Gorecki reaching base with one out.
Brandon Bannon put UIS ahead with a two-run double, and the Miners had three errors in the inning helping UIS score five unearned runs.

Bannon led the offense with four hits, including two doubles and a home run. He finished with four runs and four RBI.
Asher Bradd also scored four times, and
Hunter Phelps scored twice, including once on his home run. Zion Petigrew and
Kal Youngquist eached drove in a pair.

Luke Fitton earned the win, throwing one inning of relief and allowing just two walks.
Brendan Anderson was the most effective pitcher, throwing two innings, striking out two, and allowing just a single hit.

UIS improves to 33-6 overall and 13-3 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars travel to Indianapolis next week for a four-game series, and a chance to clinch the conference division title for the second year in a row.
