The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team is away for its first GLVC contest of 2022 against McKendree. The match will start this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the McKendree Tennis Courts in Lebanon, Ill.
 
UIS starts GLVC play with a 6-5 overall record. The Prairie Stars just beat Missouri-St. Louis and Quincy this past weekend, and look forward to keep making progress this season.
 
UIS has performed really well in doubles and was able to win the doubles point in both of the matches last weekend, without losing any matches. In singles, Menno Servaes is leading the team playing in the No. 1 position with a 17-5 record, and Tomas Martinez has also achieved amazing results at the top of the lineup with a 12-8 mark.
 
Prior to playing last week, Menno Servaes received his fourth career GLVC Player of the Week, and Tomas Martinez and Omar Zubin have been nationally ranked in singles for the team.

McKendree enters play this week with a 9-1 overall record. This past weekend, it defeated two nationally-ranked teams in No. 28 Rockhurst University and No. 48 Harding University.

UIS looks for its third straight win over McKendree. Last year the result was 6-1 for the Prairie Stars.
