The University of Illinois Springfield cross country program is hosting their fourth annual Turkey Trot on Thursday, Nov. 25. The race, presented by Bank of Springfield, will start at 8 a.m.

"Last year's Turkey Trot had over 500 participants, and we hope to see even more local participation this year. All of the proceeds of the Turkey Trot directly benefit the University of Illinois Springfield Cross Country and Track programs," said Emmons King "The UIS-BOS Turkey trot has become a tradition for us and we'd like to thank Bank of Springfield for sponsoring this community event."

The cost to enter the race is $25, plus a $2.50 signup fee. Those who register before Nov. 15 are guaranteed a UIS-BOS Turkey Trot long sleeve shirt. Packet pickup is on Nov. 23 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at TRAC, or 6:00-8:00 a.m. on race day. Race day registration is cash only.
