The University of Illinois Springfield Athletics Department announced that its crowdfunding campaign had another successful year. This year's campaign raised a total of $37,995, and the athletics department has raised over $150,000 in five years of crowdfunding. A total of 268 donations were made to UIS teams throughout the campaign.
 
Among UIS teams, the baseball team raised the most money with $8,475. They were followed by the women's soccer program ($8,070), men's golf ($4,550), softball ($4,540), and volleyball ($3,665).
 
The UIS Athletics crowdfunding campaign provided Prairie Stars supporters a platform to directly support the sport programs most meaningful to them and have a lasting impact. Each team had a dedicated webpage that shares their specific fundraising goals and priorities while visually displaying the progress of their campaign. In addition, each team page offered a "Protect The Prairie" section which highlights all of the generous donors that made a gift to their program.
