The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team fell to Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday afternoon at TRAC. The final score of the contest was 65-51 in favor of the Tritons.

UIS led for most of the first half, including a 30-26 advantage at the break. It held on to that lead until the final minutes of the third, when Missouri-St. Louis took the lead for good. The Tritons end the third on a 10-0 run, and then had a 9-1 run midway through the fourth to seal the victory.

UIS shot 50 percent in the first half against one of the top defense in the country, but couldn't keep that average for 40 minutes. It ended up shooting just 36 percent for the game, compared to 44 percent for Missouri-St. Louis. The visitors made three more three-pointers and three more free throws in the game. The Tritons also had 13 more rebounds, while UIS forced five more turnovers.

Ellie Mitchell and
Malea Jackson both finished with a team-high nine points.
Olivia Travis,
Lauren Ladowski, and
Olivia Stephens had five rebounds apiece.
Liz Uhl dished out three assists, and Ladowski collected two steals.

UIS falls to 7-5 overall and 2-4 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars return home Monday for a 1 p.m. game against Maryville.
