The University of Illinois Springfield baseball program recognized this week the addition of
Connor Pauly to their coaching staff. Pauly joined the Prairie Stars right before the start of the 2021 season, and will continue with UIS in 2022.

Pauly was part of the 2021 coaching staff that led the Prairie Stars to one of their best seasons in program history. UIS went 37-8 on the year, won a GLVC Division Championship, reached the GLVC Tournament Championship game, and was the top seed in the NCAA Midwest Regional. UIS ranked in the top-15 nationally in both scoring (10.1 runs per game) and ERA (3.83).

Pauly was a member of the Morehead State University baseball team from 2018-2019. He was a two-time first-team All-OVC selection. As a senior, he led the team to a program-record 40 wins. Pauly had a conference-best 92 hits and 64 RBI that year. He hit .348 with 12 homers, 13 doubles, 12 stolen bases, and 48 runs. As a junior, Pauly batted .339 with 58 runs, 53 RBI, 78 hits, 17 doubles, and eight home runs. The 2018 team won the 2018 OVC Championship, and advanced to a NCAA Regional Tournament.

Pauly played at Triton College in 2016 and 2017. He was an all-regional pitcher for Triton. He is originally from Glenville, Ill., and went to Glenbrook South High School. He was a team MVP and all-conference player in high school.

Pauly graduated from Morehead State in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
