The University of Illinois Springfield softball team was eliminated from the GLVC Tournament on Thursday night with a 6-3 loss to Maryville. The Prairie Stars end their year with a 19-27 overall record.

UIS trailed 2-0 early in the game, but took the lead in the top of the fifth inning.
Jillian Mathis drew a two-out walk, and Lindsey LaDere reached on an infield single. That brought the top of the lineup and
Calla Wickenhauser up, and she homered to right center.

Maryville quickly answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame, and it scored two insurance runs in the sixth. Fielding played a big role in the game as three UIS errors led to three unearned runs

LaDere and
Ashley Klinzing both had two hits in the game for the Prairie Stars, and UIS finished with seven hits in the game.
Kelsie Burrows stole a pair of bases, and LaDere also had a stolen base.
