Women's Soccer Earns Road Win At Southwest Baptist.

The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team picked up a road victory on Saturday in Boliver, Mo. The Prairie Stars defeated Southwest Baptist by a 2-1 margin.

UIS controlled play for most of the game. It had a 16-6 shots advantage, 6-3 lead in shots on goal, and a 10-2 advantage on corner kicks.

That pressure led to a penalty kick for the Prairie Stars in the 32nd minute, and Kayla Meyer converted the kick. Just 32 seconds later, though, Southwest Baptist scored and the game was tied at half.

In the second half, Izabel Pina scored in the 73rd minute for the Prairie Stars. That proved to be the game-winner as neither team scored after that.

Hailey Collins earned the win in goal, making two saves. Abby Dellamorte was the team leader with five shots and two shots on goal.

UIS improves to 2-7-0 on the season. The Prairie Stars will play Drury next Friday in a neutral site game in Collinsville, Ill.
