The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team will be in Springfield, Mo. this week for a pair of games on Friday. The Prairie Stars face No. 20 Drury at 10 a.m., followed by a 2 p.m. game against Lindenwood.

UIS enters play this week with a 2-6 overall record, with all of those matches being GLVC contests. Last week, the Prairie Stars earned a 3-0 victory over Southwest Baptist, but fell 3-0 to nationally-ranked Quincy. In their victories this season, UIS's offense is hitting .286, compared to a .151 mark in its losses.

The Prairie Stars are fourth in the GLVC with a 2.07 blocking average. UIS is currently 10
th in hitting percentage, and 13
th in opponent hitting percentage.

Brianna Bush is sixth in the league with 1.07 blocks a set. Offensively,
Hannah Nicolaisen and
Kenzie Hendon combined for 37 kills in the two matches last week. Hendon was also the team leader for the week with 20 digs.

Drury is currently 4-4 on the season and in GLVC play. The Panthers fell twice last weekend in Kirksville, Mo. with a 3-0 loss to Lewis and a 3-2 setback against Truman State.

The Panthers rank in the top-half of the GLVC in every statistical category. That includes being fourth with 12.79 kills a match and third with a 2.09 blocking average.

Chloe Rear is the top offensive player, averaging 3.43 kills a game. Claire Taylor is fifth in the league with a .318 hitting percentage. On defense, Kayla Allison is fourth in the conference with 4.82 digs a set.

Lindenwood is currently 3-4 on the year and in conference action. Last weekend at its home tri-meet, the Lions fell to Missouri S&T in five sets, and defeated McKendree by a 3-1 score.

Hannah Borchelt leads the team with 71 kills, and Allie Otten is among the league leaders with a 9.67 assist average. Defensively, Jessie Seidel is averaging 4.46 digs a set, and Mackenzi Sifuentes and Sadie Kosciuk both average over a block a set.

UIS has won two straight sweeps over Lindenwoood, including in last year's first GLVC match between the two schools.
