The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team will travel to Quincy, Ill. this Sunday for the second weekend of GLVC Pod Play. The Prairie Stars will face Southwest Baptist at 2 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. match against Quincy.
UIS enters the weekend with a 1-5 overall and GLVC record. The Prairie Stars went 0-2 last week in the first conference triangular of the year. UIS was swept by nationally-ranked Missouri S&T, and then fell 3-1 to Truman State.

The Prairie Stars will look to get their offense going, as it is averaging just 10.30 kills a set this season. Defensively, the team is currently fifth in the GLVC in blocks and eighth in digs.

Individually,
Amanda McConnell has moved into the top-10 in the conference in digs per set with a 3.96 average.
Brianna Bush is ranked fourth this week in the league in blocks with 1.09 a game.
Megan Krasowski led UIS last week with 13 kills, and
Kenzie Hendon is the team leader on the season with 49.

Southwest Baptist enters play this week with a 1-2 overall and GLVC record. The Bearcats have lost to Drury and Missouri S&T, and they defeated William Jewell between those matches.

Quincy is off to a 6-2 start, including a 4-2 mark in GLVC play. At last week's pod meet, the Hawks lost to McKendree, and defeated William Jewell.

Quincy currently has one of the top offenses in the GLVC. It ranks second with 13.52 kills a set, and is fourth with a .202 hitting percentage. The Hawks also lead the conference with 18.72 digs a set.

Emily Rehagen and Mattie Norris are the top kills duo in the league. Rehagen is fourth with 4.07 kills a set, and Norris is sixth with a 3.34 kill average. On defense, Sarah Blair is fourth with 4.62 digs a set.

Since 2007, UIS is 7-9 against Quincy, and it has won four straight meetings. Last year, the Prairie Stars defeated the Hawks by a 3-0 margin.
