The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis program opened up its 2020-21 spring season on Sunday with a shutout victory over Millikin. The Prairie Stars defeated the Big Blue in Decatur, Ill. by a 9-0 score.
 
Nick Revin had an impressive UIS debut in his first dual match with the Prairie Stars. He and Matthew Lapsley had an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles, and then he won the No. 3 singles match by scores of 6-1 and 6-0.
 
Rafa Rojas also dropped just one game in singles play at the No. 4 position, and he and Alex Chan won No. 3 doubles by an 8-2 margin. Chan and Lapsley both dropped just two games in their single victories.
 
At the top spots, Menno Servaes and Tomas Martinez won No. 1 doubles by an 8-2 score. At No. 1 singles, Servaes had a 6-3 and 6-2 victory. At the No. 2 singles spot, Martinez had a 7-5 and 6-2 victory.
 
UIS will face Illinois State in an exhibition game this upcoming Friday.
