The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team has one of its biggest tests of the early part of the season on Thursday at TRAC. The Prairie Stars take on preseason division favorite Southern Indiana in a 5:30 p.m. game.

UIS won its conference opener on Monday with an 81-52 victory over McKendree. The Prairie Stars are now 5-1 to start the year for just the third time in program history.

Southern Indiana has an identical 5-1 overall record and 1-0 GLVC mark. The Screaming Eagles defeated Indianapolis on Monday by a 79-62 margin.

The game will be one of the league's top defenses going against one of the top offenses. UIS is allowing just 57.8 points per game, while Southern Indiana is scoring 73.2 points a contest.
