The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team starts GLVC play this Monday. The conference opener is at home versus McKendree.

UIS is tied for its best five-game start in program history with a 4-1 record to begin the year. After starting the season with four straight wins, the Prairie Stars lost for the first time last Monday at Missouri Western.

McKendree is off to a 1-4 start this year. The Bearcats lost their first four of the season, but defeated Blackburn last Tuesday evening.

UIS and McKendree split a pair of games last season, with both squads winning at home. The Prairie Stars won the opening game by 10 points, while McKendree had a narrow three-point victory later in the season.
