A battle of two undefeated teams will take place on Monday evening in St. Joseph, Mo. The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team will travel west to take on Missouri Western.

The Prairie Stars are off to their best start in program history after winning their first four games this season. The latest victory was over one of Missouri Western's conference mates, as UIS won its home opener by an 82-48 score versus Lincoln.

Missouri Western is 3-0 on the season. On Thursday, it defeated a member of the GLVC as the Griffons knocked off Southwest Baptist by a 70-45 margin.

Both teams have been winning with defense. UIS is allowing just 53.2 points per game. Missouri Western is allowing 60.0 points a night, and forcing 21 turnovers a game.
