The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team ended its home schedule on Tuesday night with a 3-1 setback against No. 20 Lewis.

UIS was tied with the Flyers after two sets, with Lewis winning set one by a 25-11 score, and the Prairie Stars winning the second by a 25-21 margin.

The third set went down to the wire, with UIS trailing 23-22 and 24-23 down the stretch. The Prairie Stars could not get the set tied though as it fell 25-23. Lewis jumped out to a lead again early in the fourth set, and the closest the Prairie Stars got was two at 18-16. The Flyers closed out the fourth set by a 25-19 margin.

The two teams had just 27 hitting errors on the night, including 16 that weren't forced by a block. Lewis finished with a .381 hitting percentage, and UIS hit .230. Lewis had 28 more kills though, as well as 23 more digs and five more extra blocks.

Hannah Nicolaisen led the offense with 10 kills and a .364 hitting percentage.
Ryleigh Warfel also had 10 kills.
Megan Krasowski and
Brianna Bush had nine and eight kills, respectively, and neither had a hitting error.
Emma Konie also finished with eight kills.

Other teams leaders were
Becca Blakeley with 39 assists, Warfel and Konie with two service aces, Nicolaisen with two blocks, and
Amanda McConnell with 18 digs.

UIS falls to 10-14 overall and 6-7 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars are in action again this Friday at Lindenwood.
