Volleyball's Brianna Bush Joins 1,000-Kill Club

University of Illinois Springfield volleyball player Brianna Bush joined an exclusive group on Saturday when she recorded her 1,000 career kill. The milestone came during the team's 25-10, 25-17, and 25-20 loss at William Jewell.

Bush is just the fifth player in program history to record 1,000 career kills. She joins Audra Roach, Alli Splitt, Danielle Crossen and Alyssa Hasler in accomplishing that feat. The two-time all-GLVC honoree recorded over 200 kills in each of her first three seasons, including 297 as a sophomore in 2018. She had 69 more in the shortened spring season, and has 130 kills already this season. Bush finished the match with 1,003 career kills, and needs just 29 more to move into third on the program's all-time kills list.

Bush's milestone was the highlight on a day in which William Jewell outplayed the Prairie Stars in every area. William Jewell hit over .300, and held the Prairie Stars to more errors than kills. William Jewell had 23 more kills, 11 more digs, and five more blocks in the match.

Team leaders for the Prairie Stars were Megan Krasowski with eight kills and 10 digs, Becca Blakeley with 12 assists, and Kennedy Lauck and Krasowski with two blocks apiece.

UIS falls to 6-11 overall and 4-5 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars will play in the Midwest Region Crossover next weekend in Hammond, Ind.
