Men's Tennis Has Strong Showing At Eastern Illinois Panther Hidden Dual

Box Score The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team competed in the Eastern Illinois Hidden Dual meet over the weekend. The Prairie Stars competed against three other Illinois programs in a series of singles and doubles contests.
 
The Prairie Stars had the most success at the event which included GLVC rival Lewis, and NCAA Division I programs Eastern Illinois and Chicago State. UIS was especially dominant on the singles side, where it went 12-4 on the court. It also had a 5-4 record in doubles play.
 
In singles, UIS went 5-1 against Eastern Illinois, 4-1 versus Lewis, and 3-2 against Chicago State. In doubles, UIS had a 3-0 record against Lewis, 2-1 mark against Eastern Illinois, and a 0-3 record against Chicago State.
 
Tomas Martinez, Nick Revin, and Matthew Lapsley all won four matches in the competition. The trio all went 2-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles action. Zubin Omar was a perfect 3-0 in singles play. Menno Servaes was 2-1 in singles and 1-1 in doubles. Oscar Toro won two matches, and Ivan Esguerra and Philip Rydell each collected a doubles win.
 
UIS ends its fall season this Friday at home with a dual meet against Olivet Nazarene.
