Men's Golf Receives Balanced Effort At Fox Run Tournament

The University of Illinois Springfield men's golf team competed against some of the top golfers in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region on Monday and Tuesday at the Midwest Regional at Fox Run.
 
The Prairie Stars came in 17th at the competition. UIS was tied for 11th after shooting a 321 in the first round of the tournament. UIS shot a 327 in the second round, which was split between Monday and Tuesday. The Prairie Stars then ended with a 324 for the final 18 holes, and had a final score of 972.
 
UIS had a balanced lineup at the event, with each golfer contributing to the team score for at least two of the rounds, and three golfers leading or tying for the team lead for at least one of the round.
 
Aryaman Mohan led the way for the Prairie Stars with a three-round total of 238. He had rounds of 80, 82, and 76. He was one of the most consistent golfers and he was sixth in the tournament with 36 pars. His round of 76 was one off his best collegiate round.
 
Brady Wilson had a 243 for his 54 holes, including a low round of 79 which tied for the team-high for the first round. Spencer Jury led the team through the first two rounds, and finished third on the team with a 245. His 79 in round one included one of the nine eagles shot throughout the event.
 
Tom Bumann finished with a total 250, and Damian Lang had a three-round score of 252. Bumann's top score was an 82 for the third round, while Lang was consistent throughout with scores between 83-85 for all three rounds.
 
UIS will be in action again next week at the Bearcat Dual Gender in Caseyville, Ill.
