Volleyball Falls At Southern Indiana

The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball squad fell in three sets at Southern Indiana on Saturday afternoon. The final scores were 25-22, 26-24, and 25-14.
 
Southern Indiana was able to record the biggest points at the end of the first two sets. Set one was tied at 17 until three straight points by the Screaming Eagles provided the difference in the opening game. UIS had three set points in the second set, but a 5-0 run by Southern Indiana ended the set. The Screaming Eagles were able to use that momentum to easily capture the third and final set.
 
UIS hit just .059 for the match, compared to .140 for Southern Indiana. The home team had five more service aces, including eight in the final two sets.
 
Brianna Bush led UIS with eight kills, three blocks, and a .583 hitting percentage. Kenzie Hendon added seven kills. Megan Krasowski had a team-high 13 digs, followed by Amanda McConnell with 11 and Regan Trueblood with 10. Trueblood led the team with 13 assists, and Blakeley had three service aces.
 
UIS falls to 0-2 on the young season. The Prairie Stars have their home opener on Friday at 7 p.m. against McKendree.
