The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team will travel north on Thursday for an afternoon game at Lewis. The Prairie Stars will face the Flyers at 3 p.m. in Romeoville, Ill.
The two teams played Tuesday night, with Lewis escaping Springfield with a 78-73 victory. UIS recorded more points from the field, but Lewis had a 27-12 advantage at the free-throw line.
Makenna Fee had a team-high 16 points, and
Ellie Mitchell and
Lauren Ladowski both had 14.
With the loss, UIS fell to 3-3 on the season, and it has lost two straight. Lewis is 7-3 on the year, and is on a four-game winning streak.
One advantage UIS has over Lewis is on the boards. The Prairie Stars had a +10 rebounding margin on Tuesday, and is now fourth in the GLVC in that stat category.
