The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team fell in its final game of the 2019-20 season on Saturday afternoon in St. Louis, Mo. The Prairie Stars lost to Missouri-St. Louis by a 94-64 margin.
The contest was the final collegiate game for seven UIS seniors. All seven hit at least one field goal in the game, and they combined for 49 points.
Katelyn Rosner made six-of-eight from the field and led the team with 15 points.
Tehya Fortune added 14 to her career as the number-four scorer in UIS history, ending with 994 points.
Lanie Hicks had nine points,
Airiana Smith collected four points,
Jasmine Sangster had three, and
Myka Roth and
Erin Bolskar both had two points.
Fortune led the team with eight rebounds, one more than Hicks. Sangster and Hicks both had team-highs with three assists, and Fortune had two steals. Rosner added one more block to her career as UIS's all-time blocks leader.
Among non-seniors,
Malea Jackson had seven points, and
NaKaya Hughes had four points in six minutes.
UIS ends its first season under head coach
Casey Thousand with a 9-19 record, an improvement of one win over last year's squad.
