Box Score The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team competed in the ITA Regional competition in Michigan over the weekend.

Alex Chan and
Matthew Lapsley both went 1-1 in the Singles "B" draw, and the pair teamed up to go 1-1 in the Doubles "B" bracket. Chan won his opening round match, before falling to a seeded player in the next round. Lapsley won his first consolation contest, before rain caused the cancellation of the rest of that bracket.

The pair advanced to the round of 16 in the doubles tournament with a thrilling 9-8 victory in their first-round match. It fell to the top doubles team in the "B" bracket by a 9-7 score in the next round.

Menno Servaes and
Matthew Lapsley competed in the "A" singles tournament, and were the doubles team in the top bracket. They both went 0-2 in singles action. In doubles, they dropped their first-round match, and the consolation bracket was also abandoned due to the weather.

UIS will be in action again on Oct. 11-12 at the Eastern Illinois Panther Invitational.
