The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team fell on Thursday night in Ashland, Ohio in a battle between two 2018 NCAA Tournament programs. Ashland defeated the Prairie Stars by scores of 25-17, 25-16, and 25-18.

Ashland hit .259 in the match, compared to a .116 mark for UIS. Ashland recorded nine more kills, nine more digs, and six more blocks in the match.

Rachel Cobert led the UIS offense with nine kills, followed by
Hannah Nicolaisen with eight.
Becca Blakeley collected 26 assists, and tied Cobert with two service aces.
Jailyn Borum led the defense with 13 digs.

UIS falls to 5-4 on the season. The Prairie Stars have three more matches in Ohio this week, continuing with Saturday's contests against No. 14 Hillsdale and Tiffin.
