Box Score The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team fell just short of its bid for the first GLVC Tournament bid in program history. The Prairie Stars lost to Missouri-St. Louis in the first round in Indianapolis, Ind. by a 4-2 margin.

UIS fell in an early hole after losing the doubles point when it lost two of the three matches.
Alex Chan and
Oscar Toro were the winners for the Prairie Stars at No. 3 doubles by a 6-3 margin.

UIS took a 2-1 lead when
Tommy Martinez won at No. 4 singles and
Logan Burgess Hayes was victorious at the No. 2 position. Martinez won by scores of 6-2, 6-1, and Burgess Hayes had a 6-2, 6-3 win.

Missouri-St. Louis took the next three matches though to win the match. It won at No. 1, 3, and 5. The Prairie Stars best chance came at No. 1 singles where
Sam Clarke forced a third set, but eventually fell in that deciding set by a 6-4 mark.

The loss drops UIS to 13-5 on the season.
