The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team is looking to tie its best start since moving to the NCAA level this Saturday evening when it hosts Missouri Southern at 7:30 p.m.

The Prairie Stars opened the season last weekend with home wins over Tiffin and Purdue Northwest. It was just the third time since the move to the NCAA that UIS won a pair of games to start the year.

Missouri Southern earned its first win on Wednesday with an 89-56 victory over Graceland. It fell last weekend to Henderson State by a 79-70 score, and to Harding by a 75-67 margin.

UIS and Missouri Southern have met three times previously, with the home team winning every contest. Last year, Missouri Southern broke a tie in the final minutes for a 78-74 victory.
