The UIS women's basketball team takes to the court for the first time in 2019 on Saturday afternoon when it hosts McKendree in a 1 p.m. game at TRAC.

The Prairie Stars turned in a 7-11 record in GLVC action last season. UIS came in 10th and remained in the hunt for a GLVC Tournament berth up until the final day of the regular season, but couldn't beat McKendree out for the final spot in the GLVC Tournament.

McKendree won both meetings against UIS last year, with both games going down to the wire. The Prairie Stars fell 79-72 on the road, and 69-65 at home.

This year's Bearcats team lead the GLVC in rebounding margin (+9.0) and three-point defense (.276). Sydney Diekhoff ranks fourth in the GLVC with 16.4 points per game, and third in the GLVC with an .891 free-throw percentage.
