A balanced and efficient offense led the University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Missouri S&T on Friday night in Springfield, Ill. The Prairie Stars won their sixth straight home contest by scores of 23-25, 25-13, 25-17, and 25-22.

UIS had five players with eight or more kills, and it made just 13 hitting errors. It forced the Miners to have 39 hitting errors on the night. UIS never had more than four hitting errors in a set, while Missouri S&T had at least eight in every set. UIS was especially dominant defensively after losing the first set, as it held the Miners to just .029 hitting for the final three games.

Brianna Bush had a team-high 12 kills, and
Alli Splitt was in double-figures with 10, and she hit .476 on the night.
Rachel Cobert had nine kills, and
Alyssa Hasler and
Taylor Bauer each put eight shots on the floor.
Tiffany Wentworth directed the offense with 41 assists.

Defensively,
Jailyn Borum had a team-high 27 digs, and
Jenny Rush and Cobert also had double-figure dig totals. Bush led the team with seven blocks, and Hasler and Splitt each had six.

UIS improves to 12-4 overall and 6-1 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars face No. 10 Drury on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. inside TRAC.
