SPRINGFIELD, IL – The University of Illinois Springfield Department of Athletics and corporate partner Lake Pointe Grill are teaming up to present "Lake Pointe Grill Scholarship Day" on Monday, Feb. 19. The local restaurant will donate 10 percent of its proceeds for the entire day to the athletics scholarship fund at UIS. This day will go directly to supporting the 275 young men and women that comprise 17 intercollegiate Division II sports on the Springfield campus.
 
The Prairie Stars are encouraging patrons to eat at Lake Pointe Grill for lunch and/or dinner to raise money for the athletic scholarships. Just you and your appetite will help the growth of UIS Athletics. This marks the third straight year that UIS and Lake Pointe Grill have teamed up for a Scholarship Day. Located less than a mile from the UIS campus (1386 Toronto Road), dine-in and carry-out orders will apply throughout the day. The restaurant is open from 11 AM – 9:30 PM and reservations can be made by calling (217)679-3900.
