Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover Schedule Is Announced

The field for the 2018 Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover was released on Sunday. The event will take place next Friday and Saturday at the Academy Volleyball Club in Indianapolis, Ind.
 
The Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover is the nation's largest collegiate volleyball tournament at one venue. This will be the 11th year of the event, and will include 38 NCAA Division II teams from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC). The tournament will be key in which teams from the region will make the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament next month.
 
The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team will play three times at the event. On Friday, it was face Ashland at 11:30 a.m. (eastern) and Grand Valley State at 5:30 p.m. (eastern). It has just one match on Saturday as it squares off with Findlay at 1 p.m. (eastern).
 
Ashland is out of the GLIAC and is the third-seed from that conference. It has a 16-4 record on the season, with all four losses coming in the fifth set. Ashland is currently 9-2 in conference play.
 
Grand Valley State is the seventh seed out of the GLIAC. It has a 12-7 overall record, and a 5-6 conference mark.
 
Findlay is the No. 2 team currently in the GMAC. Findlay is 15-3 overall and 10-2 in conference action.
 
UIS is currently 15-4 on the year and 9-1 in GLVC action. The Prairie Stars are just a half game out of first-place in the conference standings.
