Nabatov earned 127th in the college division and 131st overall with an 8K time of 26 minutes, 51.0 seconds. The Wheeling native set the ninth-fastest time in program history by a UIS junior.

UIS placed 26th with a team score of 754 points.

Trevor Dunkel rolled to 35.2-second personal record as he took 161st (27:14.4). The Elmwood native clocked the eighth-fastest time in program history by a UIS freshman.

Alex Phelps claimed 183rd (27:34.6),
Thomas Wuchte came in 194th (27:44.4),
Layne Hill locked up 212th (28:05.9),
Jake Schwartz closed out in 216th (28:13.5),
Patrik Elkins earned 257th (30:00.1),
Emmons King finished 258th (30:01.3) and
Drake Claxton placed 271st (31:44.5).
Western State Colorado University, ranked No. 5 in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II poll, captured first with a team score of 84 points. Eleventh-ranked Queens University of Charlotte came in second with 115 points. Simon Fraser is tied for 13th in the national poll and secured third (127), finishing ahead of No. 12 Saginaw Valley State University (159), No. 7 Colorado State University-Pueblo (181), the University of California San Diego (201), No. 19 Walsh University (233), Western Washington University (249), No. 10 Western Oregon University (249) and No. 8 University of Southern Indiana (258), which rounds the top 10 teams in the 27-team field. Western Washington is receiving votes, nationally.

Southern Indiana's Austin Nolan topped the 282-individual field with a time of 24:33.8. Colorado State-Pueblo's Marcelo Laguera secured second (24:35.7) while Colorado State-Pueblo's Derrick Williams earned third (24:41.5).

"We are doing things now to helps us be better later in the postseason when it counts," UIS coach
Scott Slade said. "We need to keep getting better, "I'm confident we will be there when the time comes."

UIS resumes action on Oct. 20 in the Festival Year Fiasco at 10 a.m. in Evansville, Ind.
